Grin & Bare It

Somewhere along the line, I made the conscious decision to smile more often. Unfortunately, it has the strange side effect of random people walking up to me and starting conversations. I don't really consider myself a people person.

The other day I met a gentleman calling himself the Cheshire Cat. I did not poke him to test whether or not he was flesh, as I could plainly see that he was indeed flesh and not a multi-colored cat with a toothy grin. That, and he made no attempt to disappear from my sight, only to appear again on top of the bus terminal or lamp post. He claimed to have met me before, and asked how my classes were going. I explained that that the school of life was treating me well and that I planned to focus my studies in the future. He then asked me to a movie, in which I appreciatively declined him and told him that I was to meet my husband for dinner that evening. He then said his farewells and wandered off. He did not have a swishy tail, rather a fishy tale. Yes, you read that right...I wrote it, you read it. Chuckle and moveon with your day.

Yesterday a gent on crutches approached me, stopped and wished me a good day. I returned his blessing and he made some comment about how he wasn't sure about the day ahead of him. Apparently he was to be attending court proceedings. I wished him good luck with that and nodded and smiled. He said thanks and hobbled towards the court house.

Though I have to admit that smiling all through the airport may have had something to do with our pleasant experience this weekend.

Life not weird enough? Smile more.

Sound Sense

Swede Transvestite Has the a nifty idea of sharing the songs the crazy DJ in his head plays for him. I think I may jump on that band wagon too.

Today's piece:

Perfect Circle, "Lullaby"

To bad it's sooo freak'n short.

So would it be the Ego, the Id or the Super Ego that pulls the music from a person's memory bank? I am assuming that when a song get's stuck in your head, it's one you've heard before.
